This year, Iran has lived through one of the most complex and turbulent periods in its recent history. The generation now shaping a new direction in contemporary art is experiencing this moment through its own language, consciousness, and lived reality a generation navigating simultaneously between the immediacy of crisis and the imagination of a better future. Painting, perhaps more than any other medium, has the capacity to capture this condition with directness and honesty.
The sixteenth edition of New Generation Selected begins from this perspective: with the conviction that after such an experience, it is no longer possible to see the world or create work about it in the same way. Change begins, above all, in the artist’s mind and way of seeing.
