REMNANTS

This installation shows a connected chain of ecosystems through the representation of ruined nature which threatens the survival of certain species. The symbolic presence of the Siberian crane is a warning about the extinction of species relying on ecological balance. It is also a poetic metaphor for the fragility and decay of beauty, body, and nature. In our view, art as well as any other ecosystem requires sustainability.

Empty spaces are ubiquitous and ever-expanding. Time itself becomes elastic, bending and stretching in mysterious ways!

In this multimedia installation, Dorna Abyak and Kazhal Fakhri have taken crane as a forgotten object to an imaginary museum. Consequently, the bird turned into a monument. This project started with a global perspective and has so far been exhibited at the International Biennale of ceramics Matras 2024 and Homa Art Gallery and is awaiting further international exhibitions.
